Partnering for a more meaningful collaboration between the MoESA and University of Seychelles

The Minister for Employment and Social Affairs Mrs. Patricia Francourt, in the presence of high level officials of her Ministry today met with the Vice Chancellor of the University of Seychelles, accompanied by her team to discuss a closer partnership in regards to the continued development of the country’s human resource.

The University of Seychelles has newly launched its Strategic Plan (2022-30) and is on a promotional campaign in order to sensitise on the different pathways to achieve greater learning. Both parties discussed on the opportunities as well as challenges of the past that is required to be worked on in order to achieve greater success. ‘This is of utmost importance, reiterated the Minister, as it will ensure the building of the human capacity in order to ensure Seychelles reaches its development goals’. The University of Seychelles very much welcomed the points discussed, that the Vice-Chancellor indicated will assist them in forging the way forward.

An MoU was discussed for further collaboration in terms of human resource development of the country as well as tailor-made courses for the Ministry, given the specific nature of its functions and conventional courses not readily available. Further discussions will ensue following today’s meeting to build on key points discussed.
